I build websites, internal tools, and digital systems for teams that need them to work well in the real world.
Over the past nine years, my work has moved between development, email, analytics, automation, and digital strategy. I like being close to the code, but I also care about what happens after something ships: who has to use it, who has to maintain it, and whether it actually makes the work easier.
At the City of Detroit, I work across web development and technical strategy. I help shape how our digital tools are built and maintained, from accessibility and performance standards to vendor selection and internal systems. One of those projects is an inventory application that now tracks more than 23,000 items across 20 locations.
I also built the department's GovDelivery email program, including responsive templates, testing, automated communications, and the documentation staff use to keep it running. My work also covers paid campaigns, technical SEO, GA4, Google Tag Manager, and conversion tracking.
Outside of the city, I build for clients through Webdroid and First Hill Marketing. That work usually means taking a project from an early conversation through design, development, launch, and whatever comes next. Most of it lives in React, Next.js, ecommerce, and the growing set of AI and automation tools that make repetitive work easier.
I also teach web development. I've designed curriculum, led workshops, and helped students get comfortable building something real for the first time.

2025 - Present Web Developer & Technical Strategist · City of Detroit
Lead technical strategy and cross-departmental projects, setting standards for web development, accessibility, security, and performance. Designed and shipped an in-house inventory application tracking 23,000+ items across 20 locations, replacing a fragmented manual process with QR-coded check-in/out, role-based access, and PDF reporting. Author RFP specifications and lead technical vetting for vendor selection, then run onboarding and oversight as the primary liaison. Drive automation, workflow modernization, and technology adoption through curriculum design and hands-on training.

2021 - 2025 Email Developer · City of Detroit
Architected my department's first dedicated email marketing program from the ground up, building processes for campaign development, scheduling, and performance analysis. Shipped responsive HTML campaigns through GovDelivery with A/B testing, and ran Meta and Google paid ads promoting elections emails and events to drive registrations and attendance. Automated seasonal-staff comms (including Election Day logistics) and authored the SOPs the team still runs on.

2025 - Present Program Director · Webdroid · Education & Gaming Lab
Direct the education arm of Webdroid: build curriculum for after-school and adult web-dev courses, run a community gaming lab that doubles as a recruiting funnel for the tech program, and design pathways that move students from first-day HTML to shippable React projects. Manage instructor hiring, hardware procurement, and partnerships with local schools and nonprofits.

2018 - 2025 Developer · Webdroid
Won and delivered B2B website clients end to end, from prospecting and proposals to launch. Built responsive web apps and email templates, engineered custom storefronts on WordPress/WooCommerce and Shopify (Liquid) with Stripe, and stood up GA4 and Google Tag Manager dashboards. Ran A/B testing, conversion optimization, and technical SEO for client sites, used AI tools to speed delivery, and established CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions deploying to Vercel.

Shumake Studios
A portfolio and booking site for a Detroit photographer and creative director.
I built it from an approved mockup and set up Sanity so she can update the work, services, pricing, and photography herself. Changes appear on the site as soon as they’re published, and the booking form turns a few simple selections into a detailed project inquiry.

Website for a small listening bar in Detroit.
The site handles the practical side of the room (menus, events, reservations, and the membership waitlist) without losing the personality of the space. The owners manage everything through Sanity, while events are pulled in from Google Calendar and published automatically to the site and calendar feed.
The visual system is simple: big type, a rigid grid, and very little getting in the way.

Sip + Sounds
A home for the live DJ sets recorded at rent free haus.
Every session has its own page with the full video and tracklist. The tracklist follows the set as it plays, and selecting a song jumps straight to that moment in the mix.
Artist pages, newsletters, share images, and the rest of the archive all start from the same session entry, which keeps publishing a new set pretty painless.

My Workspace
A personal workspace I kept adding to until it became its own app.
It started with nested pages and a block editor, then grew into the place I keep budgets, recordings, journals, recurring tasks, and whatever else I don’t want scattered across five different apps.
There’s also an AI layer for pulling structured information out of notes, a Chrome extension for saving images from around the web, and a PWA so the whole thing feels closer to a desktop tool than a side project.

Inventory Management Platform
An internal system for keeping track of more than 23,000 assets spread across 20 locations.
Staff can scan items in and out with QR codes, print labels, manage inventory by role, and export reports when they need them.
It replaced a process that had been split across different files and manual workflows, and now gives the department one place to see what it owns and where it is.
